In 1941 Dickey’s BBQ restaurant was founded by a family in Dallas, Texas. For 80 years, Dickey’s BBQ has established itself as one of the most popular and successful restaurant chains in the southeastern United States. Today, the restaurant is still located in Dallas, Texas near the Central Expressway and Knox Henderson.
Throughout its history, Dickey’s has never moved or changed its name. The restaurant chain’s ownership has remained the same as well as it is still owned by the children or the founders.

The founder’s son, Roland Dickey has said that he enjoys preparing food for customers as it is the best way for him to make a living. During the past four decades, Dickey’s BBQ continued to expand and is now an established restaurant brand.
