Mexican-Born Omar Yunes Bags Best Franchisee of the World Award

Omar Yunes, a franchisee of Sushi Itto was crowned the Best Franchisee of the World (BFW) award. The event, which took place in Florence, Italy on December 5, honored Mr. Yunes for his remarkable contribution towards the brand’s success. At the age of 21, Omar Yunes began franchising for Sushi Itto, a leading Japanese food chain. Since then, it has been a fruitful journey as Omar owns 13 franchised units, which represent ten percent of the total Sushi Itto’s franchised units. Speaking during the awarding event, Omar Yunes expressed his joy stating that he was humbled to receive the award. As a show of teamwork and corporation, he stated that the award belongs to over 400 employees who work at the franchises. He categorically said that without them he could not have innovated, and thus he couldn’t have been awarded the coveted prize. On his side, Benjamin Cancelmo, CEO of Sushi Itto stated that the award manifests the commitment of the brand towards bettering customer service through improved flavor and outstanding hospitality.

 

Mode of Evaluation

Omar Yunes had to beat competitors from all over the world to win the award. The event was graced by representatives from 34 countries including Argentina, Italy, France, Hungary, Portugal, and Brazil. These awards were evaluated based on how much a franchise had contributed in terms of knowledge, influence on the network and savings implemented. Additionally, motivation offered to the employees and number of invoices and improvements that an individual had suggested to the franchise.
