Betsy DeVos is Tough

Betsy DeVos is a well-known political figure in the GOP. During the trajectory of President Trump, she was named the Secretary of Education. Even though DeVos and Trump share several political views, she did not always agree with his methods. There was a federal law that allowed transgender students to use the bathrooms that they identify with. When Donald Trump took office, he decided that this was a law that he was going to do away with. During a press conference, he planned to announce this decision. Betsy DeVos was not necessarily in agreement, and because she wanted to make sure that she warned some of the representatives of the LGBTQ community, she let them know about the president’s upcoming move. When he made this announcement, she stood by his side, and there was no evidence that she was not in agreement with him.

Betsy DeVos is the wife of Dick Devos. Dick and Betsy DeVos are highly involved with the government in their native state of Michigan. At one time, Dick DeVos ran for governor, and both Betsy and Dick DeVos held board positions in hospitals and schools. Betsy DeVos is dedicated to education. She is a champion for the parent’s right to choose where their children get educated. She realizes that not all families can afford to send their children to private schools, but she believes that more parents should have the opportunity to choose different forms of education for their children. Michigan has the highest amount of charter schools in the country due to her efforts. Dick and Betsy DeVos are avid givers. They created the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation. Through their foundation, they have given out hundreds of millions of dollars to charities around the world.
